My Story

Hi, I’m Tammy, a pottery obsessive, small-batch functional potter, and a proud resident of Leslieville, Toronto.

My journey with clay began innocently enough in 2015 with a 3 hour Groupon class and two girlfriends. What started as a curious evening out somehow never stopped. Funny how that happens.

In 2018 I began taking classes with well respected ceramicists at the Gardiner Museum. In late 2019, I bought my own wheel from Tuckers Pottery, and turned my spare room into a dedicated practice space. Then the pandemic hit, the world slowed down, and pottery became my calm in all the chaos, something tactile and grounding.  Clay Space, a local pottery studio supported me by firing my pieces, and I discovered just how connected the ceramics community really is.

In 2022, I took things a step further and built my own studio in the backyard. No commute, no excuses. Today, I create from that backyard studio while still attending private classes, not just for the technical challenge, but for the incredible community of makers who have quietly become some of my closest friends.

My work is driven by a love for clean lines and considered forms. I make pieces that are meant to be used, and I find endless beauty in the unpredictability of glazes; because even after nearly a decade the clay still surprises me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you have any questions or comments or if you’re after a specific size, a particular palette, or a truly unique gift, I’d love to collaborate on a piece tailored to your space or for a friend or client.
